JUROR: Born in 1957 in Arusha, Tanzania. Pradip Malde received his M.A. from the Glasgow School of Art in 1980, since then, has lived and worked as a photographic artist and an academic in Scotland and Tennessee. He has exhibited widely and has been published in the US and in Europe, most recently with works shown in ‘Kaleidoscope: Works on Paper Recently Acquired for Scotland’ at the Scottish National Galleries. He has worked with the collections of the Royal Photographic Society in England, and the Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh, and curated exhibitions for the University of the South and the arts festival ‘Glasgow 1990’ among others.

Malde’s first trip to the USA in 1985, ultimately resulted in a long-term involvement with the Imogen Cunningham Trust curating a number of exhibitions of her work, and authoring the book ‘The Poetry of Form‘. This first visit also introduced Malde to Sewanee, TN and the University of the South, where he is Professor of Fine Arts and has introduced new programs and courses in Chemistry and Art, New Media art, and Documentary studies. He has also taught at the Napier University, Edinburgh and as visiting artist/lecturer at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, California State University at Long Beach, University of Georgia, Athens, and Anderson Ranch, Colorado among others.His works are held in numerous collections, including the Museum of the Art Institute of Chicago; Houston Museum of Fine Art; Center for Creative Photography, Tucson; Princeton University Museum; Victoria & Albert Museum, London; the Scottish Arts Council, Edinburgh; the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Edinburgh; the Arts Council of Great Britain, London; The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Collection, London; The British Council, London, The Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago; and The Royal Photographic Society Collection at the National Museum of Film, Photography and Television, England.
